Lee Ji Ah, Kang Ki Young, And More Impress At Script Reading For Upcoming Drama
Upcoming JTBC drama “Queen of Divorce” has shared photos from its script reading!
“Queen of Divorce” follows the story of Sara Kim (Lee Ji Ah), Korea’s greatest divorce problem solver, and eccentric lawyer Dong Ki Joon (Kang Ki Young) as they fearlessly bring justice to “bad spouses” with their solutions.
Both director Park Min Seok and writer Jeong Hee Seon were present at the script reading along with cast members Lee Ji Ah, Kang Ki Young, Oh Min Seok, Na Young Hee, Kim Sun Young, Lee Tae Gu, and Seo Hye Won.
The faces of the actors brimmed with excitement, passion, and pleasant tension. Once the script reading began, the actors quickly became deeply immersed in their respective characters.
Lee Ji Ah plays Sara Kim, who is the team leader of the divorce settlement company Solution. Sara Kim was the daughter-in-law of the family behind the best law firm in Korea, but she loses everything overnight after being backstabbed by her husband. Afterwards, she transforms into a divorce problem solver who provides the perfectly tailored solution to those who were wronged and want to punish their bad spouses.
Actress Lee Ji Ah set the tone of the script reading with her unique aura and energy. When listening to the clients’ stories, she conveyed empathy through her eyes, and during action scenes, she infused vitality into the lines with subtle gestures and movements.
Kang Ki Young plays Sara Kim’s business partner and Solution’s advisory counsel Dong Ki Joon. During his time as a prosecutor, Dong Ki Joon showcased an extraordinary sense of perseverance and intuition to the point that he earned the nickname “Shepherd.” He had the highest prosecution rate in the Southwestern District Prosecutors’ Office, but due to some reason, he steps down from his position.
Kang Ki Young perfectly embodied the character of the relentless “shepherd” Dong Ki Joon. His clear and lively tone of voice while unravelling the cases and his smile brought Dong Ki Joon from the script to life, adding energy to the script reading session.
Lee Ji Ah and Kang Ki Young skillfully portrayed the subtle tension between Sara Kim and Dong Ki Joon as they gradually grew closer while solving the cases one after the other. Their way of punishing the offending spouse heightened anticipation for their performance in the drama.
Oh Min Seok added tension by skillfully portraying the two-faced personality of Sara Kim’s ex-husband No Yul Sung, who pretends to be a well-mannered competent man on the outside but hides his deep desires on the inside.
As Song Jang Mi, the CEO of the divorce settlement company Solution, Kim Sun Young showed off her cheerful and lively energy alongside Lee Ji Ah, heightening anticipation for their womance chemistry in the drama.
Na Young Hee, Seo Hye Won, and Lee Tae Gu, who play Chairman Cha, Kang Bom, and Kwon Dae Gi, respectively, also participated in the script reading.
