Oh Young Soo Steps Down From New Film + Lee Soon Jae To Replace Him
Actor Oh Young Soo has stepped down from the film “Big Family” (literal title).
On February 5, a representative of Lotte Entertainment announced, “Oh Young Soo is stepping down from ‘Big Family.’ Lee Soon Jae will take on the role in his place.”
“Big Family” is a new film helmed by director Yang Woo Seok of “The Attorney” and “Steel Rain.” The film depicts the story of cute grandchildren coming to visit the owner of a dumpling restaurant called Pyeong Man Ok, whose family business is about to end due to his son who became a monk. The film also stars Kim Yun Seok, Lee Seung Gi, and Kang Han Na.
Previously in November 2022, it was reported that Oh Young Soo was accused of inappropriate physical contact with a woman in 2017. Oh Young Soo’s side denied the charges during the prosecution’s investigation, saying, “I just held her hand to guide the way.” Recently, the prosecution requested Oh Young Soo to be sentenced to one year in prison on charges of indecent assault. His sentencing hearing is scheduled to be held on March 15.
Oh Young Soo appeared in the Netflix series “Squid Game” as Oh Il Nam, who suffers from a brain tumor, and won the Best Supporting Actor award in the television division at the Golden Globe Awards in the United States in 2022.
