SEVENTEEN's Mingyu Talks About His Passion For Performing, "NANA TOUR With SEVENTEEN," And More
SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu has graced the cover of Arena Homme Plus!
In the interview that followed his photo shoot, Mingyu talked about his recent trip to Italy for the tvN variety show “NANA TOUR with SEVENTEEN.” He remarked, “Viewers might think, ‘Since there are cameras, it must have been somewhat staged.’ But that wasn’t the case at all. It truly felt like a real vacation. I even felt a bit embarrassed watching ‘NANA TOUR.’ I wondered if I had shown too much of myself. I think that’s how comfortable we were, like we were on a real vacation.”
When asked about the biggest driving force that makes it possible for SEVENTEEN to release a new album every year, Mingyu cited the happiness he feels on stage. He shared, “My favorite time is when I’m on stage, and I think it’s probably the same for other singers.”
He continued, “To stand on stage, you need a new album. Of course, the process of working on and practicing new songs is tough. It’s challenging every time. But the joy of being on stage after all that hard work is many times greater, and now that I know the joy of showing my fans a new side of myself, it’s even more fun.”
When asked where he sees himself in 10 years, Mingyu answered in a firm and cheerful voice, “I’ll be 38 [by Korean reckoning] in 10 years, right? Personally, I hope people think, ‘Mingyu has become cooler’ and ‘He’s more manly.’ Musically, I hope to have established my own style to some extent. When someone mentions ‘Mingyu,’ I think it would be perfect if a specific genre, music video, or stage performance came to mind first.”
Mingyu’s full pictorial and interview can be found in the March issue of Arena Homme Plus.
