Jung Hae In And Jung So Min's Upcoming Drama Confirms Supporting Cast Lineup
tvN’s upcoming drama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal translation) has unveiled its star-studded lineup!
In addition to Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, and Kim Ji Eun—who were previously confirmed for the drama—“Mom’s Friend’s Son” revealed its cast lineup on March 13 including Yoon Ji On, Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, Lee Seung Joon, Kim Geum Soon, Han Ye Joo, Jeon Suk Ho, N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub, and Shim So Young.
“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is a new rom-com drama about a woman named Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), who tries to restart her troubled life, and her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), who is marked as the dark chapter in Bae Seok Ryu’s life. The drama will be helmed by director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
Jung So Min will be starring as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In will star as Choi Seung Hyo, the head of the architecture atelier In as well as the titular son of a friend of Seok Ryu’s mom—and someone whom Seok Ryu considers a living blotch on her personal history.
Kim Ji Eun will be playing the role of Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu’s cheerful and unpredictable childhood friend Jung Mo Eum, an emergency responder who is passionate about justice. Yoon Ji On will transform into Kang Dan Ho, a reporter who prioritizes being on site and only pursues the facts. Kang Dan Ho faces unpredictable changes as he moves next door to Jung Mo Eum.
Furthermore, Park Ji Young will play Bae Seok Ryu’s blunt mother Na Mi Sook, Jo Han Chul will play Baek Suk Ryu’s father Bae Geun Sik who runs a small snack bar, Jang Young Nam will play Choi Seung Hyo’s mother Seo Hye Sook, and Lee Seung Joon will play Choi Seung Hyo’s father Choi Kyung Jong who is a professor of emergency medicine.
Jeon Suk Ho plays Yoon Myung Woo, the joint head of architecture atelier In, Kim Geum Soon plays Jung Mo Eum’s mother Do Jae Sook, and Han Ye Joo plays Bang In Sook, who holds a lot of rage on the inside. Lee Seung Hyub will transform into Baek Seok Ryu’s younger brother Bae Dong Jin who dreams of becoming a fitness trainer, and Shim So Young will play In’s employee Lee Na Yoon who harbors one-sided love for Choi Seung Hyo.
The production team shared, “‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ captures the story of love, friendship, and family amidst the backdrop of the warm neighborhood of Hyereung. Please anticipate the synergy of the actors who will complete the warm and cheerful yet turbulent neighborhood romance.”
