Watch: "I-LAND 2 : N/a" Announces Producer And Performance Director Lineup
Mnet’s upcoming girl group survival show “I-LAND2 : N/a” has announced the lineup of producers and performance directors!
Following the announcement of actor Song Kang starring on the show as a Storyteller, Mnet further revealed on March 18 that BIGBANG’s Taeyang, dancers Monica and Lee Jung as well as producer 24 and VVN will serve as producers and performance directors for “I-LAND 2 : N/a.”
Unlike the first season of Mnet’s survival show “I-LAND,” which was produced in collaboration with HYBE and gave rise to the boy group ENHYPEN in 2020, the upcoming second season will be a collaboration with longtime YG Entertainment producer Teddy and his agency THEBLACKLABEL.
Taeyang will serve as the main producer for “I-LAND 2 : N/a” and help discover and grow talented contestants together with Teddy. 24, who produced hit songs such as BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” Jennie’s “SOLO,” Rosé’s “On The Ground,” and Jeon Somi’s “DUMB DUMB,” and VVN, who worked on BIGBANG’s “Still Life,” BLACKPINK’s “Ready For Love,” and Jisoo’s “Flower,” will serve as music producers.
On top of this, dancers Monika and Lee Jung, who started a dance craze in Korea via “Street Woman Fighter,” will act as performance directors.
In the teaser video that was released along with the poster, Taeyang expresses, “I want to convey and teach well the identity, skills, and character that one can have as a singer.” 24 remarks, “Among the 24 contestants, there is no one who lacks star quality. What’s important is how quickly they can bring out their potential.” VVN says, “I think a great group will be born through our special producing.”
Monika and Lee Jung also express their determination. Monika shares, “In addition to techniques, I want to bring out qualities such as stage presence and professionalism that are not outwardly visible.” Lee Jung says, “I want to teach them how to dance skillfully. It will be fun to watch until the end as I believe that the contestants have infinite potential.”
