Lee Je Hoon, Lee Dong Hwi, And More Each Have Their Own Stories In "Chief Detective 1958" Posters

MBC’s upcoming drama “Chief Detective 1958” has shared character posters of Lee Je Hoon, Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Woo Sung, and Yoon Hyun Soo!

“Chief Detective 1958” will serve as a prequel to the classic Korean series “Chief Inspector,” which ran for 18 years from 1971 to 1989 and achieved an incredible peak of 70 percent ratings back in its heyday. While the original show was set in the 1970s and 1980s (present day at the time), “Chief Detective 1958” will be set even earlier, in 1958. The drama will follow the story of Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon), a passionate detective who boasts the highest arrest rate when it comes to petty thieves, as he teams up with three charismatic colleagues to break the norms of corruption.

The first poster captures detective Park Young Han at Jongnam Police Station at night. He has a serious expression on his face as he reads through a newspaper article, as if collecting clues for a case.

The next poster captures Park Young Han’s first partner, Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi), with a charismatic aura. The look in his eyes also conveys his complex emotions of anger and dissatisfaction with the world.

Known as the “crazy dog” who bites bad guys, Kim Sang Soon is a prominent figure within Jongnam Police Station. Viewers will have to wait to find out the reasons behind his resentment and hostility towards the world, as well as the changes he will undergo upon meeting Park Young Han.

In the next poster, Jo Kyung Hwan (Choi Woo Sung) has a relaxed smile on his face while effortlessly pedaling his bicycle with several heavy bags of rice piled up in the back. When Jo Kyung Hwan, a young man with extraordinary strength, goes from working at a rice mill to joining the police force, what kind of impact will he make at Jongnam Police Station?

The last poster captures Seo Ho Jung (Yoon Hyun Soo) with a neat appearance and eyes filled with determination. After graduating from a prestigious university, Seo Ho Jung decides to apply for a special police recruitment program to fulfill a dream he has harbored for a long time. When Seo Ho Jung, an elite who dreams of becoming an excellent detective, joins the police force, will he be able to fully utilize his brilliant brain and overflowing confidence?

“Chief Detective 1958” will premiere on April 19 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
