Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hye Young, Kim Nam Hee, Chansung, And More Impress At Script Reading For Upcoming Drama
Upcoming drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” (also known as “Our Home”) has shared photos from its script reading!
“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a new black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts Young Won’s career and family at risk, she teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family.
The drama is a collaboration between writer Nam Ji Yeon of “So I Married the Anti-Fan” and producing director Lee Dong Hyun, who helmed “Doctor Lawyer” and “She Knows Everything.”
The script reading began with opening remarks from director Lee Dong Hyun and writer Nam Ji Yeon, and then the actors took turns sharing their determinations and aspirations for the project.
Kim Hee Sun impressed with her detailed and skillful portrayal of Noh Young Won, Korea’s best family counselor who is loved by the general public. Noh Young Won is a character who lives a perfect life while juggling between work and family, but when an incident shakes everything up, she begins to cooperate with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang to protect her family.
Lee Hye Young exuded a powerful aura in her character as Noh Young Won’s mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang, a mystery novelist who is a devoted mother to her only son Choi Jae Jin. Lee Hye Young effortlessly switched between comedy and seriousness with her unique low-pitched voice. Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young perfectly portrayed the bickering chemistry between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law, who start working together to protect their family against threats.
Kim Nam Hee impressed with his portrayal of a family man who dotes on his wife, mother, and son in his character Choi Jae Jin, who is Noh Young Won’s husband and a famous plastic surgeon. 2PM’s Chansung perfectly captured the immature and stubborn traits of Noh Young Won’s mischievous younger brother Noh Young Min.
Ahn Gil Kang added fun to the story with his portrayal of restaurant owner Park Kang Sung, who would do anything for Hong Sa Gang. DKZ’s Jaechan plays Choi Do Hyun, Noh Young Won and Choi Jae Jin’s handsome son, who is brilliant and well-mannered.
Jung Gun Joo created tension with his portrayal of Moon Tae Oh, Choi Do Hyun’s cheerful and innocent-looking math tutor who has a mysterious side to him. Shin So Yul gave a solid performance as Oh Ji Eun, a plastic surgeon who works at the same hospital as Choi Jae Jin.
