Kim Hee Sun And Lee Hye Young Are On Different Pages In New Poster For "Bitter Sweet Hell"
MBC’s upcoming drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” has released a new poster!
“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a new black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts Young Won’s career and family at risk, she teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family. The drama is a collaboration between writer Nam Ji Yeon of “So I Married the Anti-Fan” and producing director Lee Dong Hyun, who helmed “Doctor Lawyer” and “She Knows Everything.”
Kim Hee Sun will star as Noh Young Won, Korea’s most famous family counselor, who is loved by the general public. Lee Hye Young will play Noh Young Won’s mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang, a mystery novelist who is a devoted mother to her only son, Choi Jae Jin.
The newly released poster captures Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang standing against the backdrop of a snowy mountain with very different facial expressions. Noh Young Won is captured with an intense gaze and serious expression. On the other hand, Hong Sa Gang is laughing while looking up in the sky.
The Korean title of “Bitter Sweet Hell” is a pun that can be interpreted in two distinct ways: the Korean word “woori” can mean a “cage” or “pen” for raising animals, but it can also mean “our,” which would make the meaning of the drama’s title “our home.”
Commenting on the title of the drama, the production team shared, “We wanted to show a fresh take on the traditional concept of family.” They added, “Amidst the unpredictable chaos and plot twists of our story, we wanted to give viewers a precious chance to reconsider the true meaning of family.”
“Bitter Sweet Hell” will premiere on May 24 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
