Update: BELIFT LAB Announces Plans To File Additional Complaint Against ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin

Updated June 10 KST:

On June 10, BELIFT LAB released a new statement announcing their plans to file an additional complaint against ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

They stated, “BELIFT LAB will file an additional civil lawsuit today to hold CEO Min Hee Jin accountable for the damages suffered by the artists and members of BELIFT LAB as well as participating creators who have been burdened and silenced by the stigma of plagiarism.”

BELIFT LAB also emphasized that the decision of the Seoul Central District Court to grant Min Hee Jin’s request for injunction to prohibit HYBE from exercising voting rights regarding her removal from ADOR is not a ruling on the plagiarism issue, stating, “It should not be distorted as if CEO Min Hee Jin won the ruling on the plagiarism issue.”

They added, “CEO Min Hee Jin showed a gesture of reconciliation on the surface during the second press conference, but she did not offer a single word of apology or reflection to the innocent victims including the artists, who suffered from severe malicious comments that were akin to violence that they did not have to endure, while making it the fault of others and the media. We find this very regrettable.”

ILLIT’s agency BELIFT LAB has announced that they are taking a legal action against ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

On May 22, BELIFT LAB released the following statement:

Hello, this is BELIFT LAB.

Today (May 22), we have filed a complaint against CEO Min Hee Jin on the charges of interference with business and defamation for causing harm to our company and our affiliated artists with her unilateral false claims.

We clearly state that the plagiarism allegations raised by Min Hee Jin against our artist ILLIT are not true. We have submitted evidence to the judicial authorities that can prove these allegations are false, and even if this may take some time, we will clarify the truth through proper legal procedures.

The determination of whether intellectual property has been plagiarized should be made based on reasonable standards and procedures, not on unilateral and distorted interpretations. We express our regret that the efforts and achievements of our artists and members are being undermined by indiscriminate speculation and false information.

Furthermore, although this issue is unrelated to ILLIT, the members of ILLIT are suffering from severe malicious comments, ridicule, and personal attacks. We earnestly request that all the indiscriminate insults, malicious slander, spread of false information, and defamatory attacks against our artists to be ceased immediately.

We will do our utmost to protect our artists and members.

Thank you.
