Song Kang, Lee Som, Lee Ho Jung, And Shin Hyun Ji Play Vital Roles In Special Appearances For Upcoming Film "Escape"
The production team of the film “Escape” has revealed its special appearance lineup!
On June 18, distributor Plus M Entertainment unveiled new stills featuring Song Kang, Lee Som, Lee Ho Jung, and Shin Hyun Ji for their special appearances in “Escape.”
“Escape” tells the story of the other side of the barbed-wire fence at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and depicts the fierce escape and pursuit of North Korean soldier Gyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon), who dreams of living a life with a future, and security team officer Hyun Sang (Koo Kyo Hwan), who must stop him. The film is helmed by Lee Jong Pil of “Samjin Company English Class” and “The Sound of a Flower.”
Song Kang will star as Seon Woo Min, a character who intriguingly hides the undisclosed past of Hyun Sang. Koo Kyo Hwan, who collaborated closely with Song Kang, praised, “Song Kang’s expressions carry numerous narratives and tales. That’s why casting him as a character tasked with revealing the relationship with Hyun Sang is the perfect choice.”
Meanwhile, Lee Som appears as the leader of wanderers who cross paths with Gyu Nam and Dong Hyuk (Hong Sa Bin) on their risky escape journey. Her special appearance in the film was facilitated by her connection with director Lee Jong Pil, stemming from “Samjin Company English Class.”
Additionally, Lee Som personally enlisted Lee Ho Jung and Shin Hyun Ji as members of the wandering group, adding depth to the drama. Lee Je Hoon, who engages with the wanderers as Gyu Nam, commented, “The members of the wandering group breathe new life into the movie’s atmosphere.”
“Escape” is set to hit theaters on July 3.
