Memories Of Chae Jong Hyeop And Kim So Hyun’s First Love Begin To Resurface At 29 In “Serendipity’s Embrace"

tvN’s upcoming drama “Serendipity’s Embrace” has shared character posters of Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim So Hyun!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Serendipity’s Embrace” will tell the story of young people finding true love and their dreams after accidentally running into their first love from 10 years ago. Kim So Hyun stars as Lee Hong Joo, an animation producer who is afraid of love due to painful memories from her previous relationship—and who undergoes an unexpected change after running into Kang Hoo Young (Chae Jong Hyeop), who witnessed some of her lowest moments from her past.

Chae Jong Hyeop stars as Kang Hoo Young, a handsome and highly intelligent financial planner living in the United States who never needed to work hard to achieve great results. Bored with his dull and meaningless life, Kang Hoo Young finds his heart fluttering again when he returns to Korea for the first time in a long while and unexpectedly reunites with Lee Hong Joo, his first love from high school, after 10 years.

The released character posters capture Lee Hong Joo and Kang Hoo Young, whose memories of first love are starting to resurface. Hong Joo’s expression as she looks at Hoo Young with a complex and subtle gaze hints at a transformation. The phrase, “It’s embarrassing because you keep finding out about my failed relationship,” arouses curiosity about the emotional turmoil 29-year-old Hong Joo might be experiencing.

The next poster shows Kang Hoo Young’s unexpected reaction to Hong Joo’s failed relationship. With his good looks and sharp mind, Hoo Young was always the center of  attention. However, the only person who ever confused him was his first love. Returning to Korea after 10 years and reuniting with her, Hoo Young’s heart begins to flutter again as memories resurface. The phrase, “I’m sorry, but I’m happy your relationship failed,” combined with Hoo Young’s intense gaze, stirs curiosity and heightens anticipation for the drama. What changes will the resurfaced memories bring to the two, meeting again after 10 years?

The production team of “Serendipity’s Embrace” remarked, “When Hong Joo and Hoo Young reunite after 10 years, their feelings for each other change to something they didn’t realize when they were students,” adding, “What the first love of their 19-year-old selves will look like when ignited at 29 and the exciting changes they will undergo will bring viewers excitement and laughter.”

“Serendipity’s Embrace” premieres on July 22 at 8:40 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
