Hyeri Confirmed To Star In New Mystery Thriller Drama

Girl’s Day’s Hyeri is set to make her return to the small screen!

After earlier reports that Hyeri was in talks for the upcoming drama “Friendly Rivalry” (literal title), a Korean news outlet confirmed on July 17 that Hyeri will take on the lead role in this series.

Based on a webtoon by writer Song Chae Yoon, “Friendly Rivalry” is a mystery thriller drama that follows the bloody competition between Yoo Jae Yi, a seemingly perfect high school student, and Woo Seul Gi, a naive transfer student, who become best friends and then gradually reveal their madness and desire to become No. 1 in school.

Hyeri will portray Yoo Jae Yi, a character from a privileged family with good looks and a high IQ, who stands out academically even in a school filled with smart students. Well aware of her advantages, Yoo Jae Yi is also adept at manipulating situations.

However, her life takes a turn when she becomes interested in the newcomer Woo Seul Gi, leading to precarious relationship dynamics where the lines between friendship and obsession become blurred.
