Kim So Hyun, Chae Jong Hyeop, Dasom, And Lee Won Jung Explore First Love Among Misunderstandings In "Serendipity's Embrace"

The upcoming romance drama “Serendipity’s Embrace” has released new stills from the characters’ school days!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Serendipity’s Embrace” will tell the story of young people finding true love and their dreams after accidentally running into their first love from 10 years ago. Kim So Hyun stars as Lee Hong Joo, an animation producer who is afraid of love due to painful memories from her previous relationship—and who undergoes an unexpected change after running into Kang Hoo Young (Chae Jong Hyeop), who witnessed some of her lowest moments from her past.

The released photos hint at the tangled first loves of Lee Hong Joo, Kang Hoo Young, Kim Hye Ji (Dasom), and Kwon Sang Pil (Lee Won Jung). One photo shows a confident Lee Hong Joo handing a love letter to Kang Hoo Young amid a crowd of noisy male students. However, the love letter actually belongs to her best friend Kim Hye Ji. Too nervous to deliver the letter herself, Kim Hye Ji asks Lee Hong Joo to play cupid for her.

Kang Hoo Young stares blankly at the love letter handed to him by Lee Hong Joo. The subtle change in his expression is intriguing, especially since he rarely shows his emotions. The first to notice this shift in the usually cynical Kang Hoo Young is his self-proclaimed best friend, Kwon Sang Pil. With curiosity, Kwon Sang Pil watches Kang Hoo Young’s complex reaction to Lee Hong Joo’s presence. This suggests significant changes are coming for them. All eyes are now on the unfolding story of Lee Hong Joo, Kang Hoo Young, and Kim Hye Ji’s first loves at 19 and the impact of the love letter Lee Hong Joo delivered.

The production team said, “The story of these young people, who begin their first love at 19 by chance and find true love by 29, will offer delightful laughs and deep excitement. “Serendipity’s Embrace” premieres on July 22 at 8:40 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
