12 Essential SEVENTEEN Variety Shows, Concerts, And More To Add To Your Watchlist

SEVENTEEN is a K-pop boy group that needs no introduction. Over their decade-long career, they have produced so much content that it would take years to go through everything. To make your CARAT journey easier, here is a list of essential SEVENTEEN content, variety shows, and concerts that you should definitely add to your watchlist to get to know the group better.

“GOING SEVENTEEN”

Of course, the first essential SEVENTEEN content to check out is SEVENTEEN’s YouTube variety show “GOING SEVENTEEN,” aka “GoSe.” With over 230 episodes, “GoSe” is considered one of the best idol-group variety shows in the industry. In fact, it has its own fandom called CUBIC. Although every episode is unique and worth watching, this “GOING SEVENTEEN” guide is also a great way to get into “GoSe.”

“17 Project: Debut Big Plan”

Before SEVENTEEN became one of the most popular K-pop boy groups, they were just 13 boys training day in and day out to make their dreams come true. This seven-episode documentary, “17 Project,” gives you a glimpse into their debut journey. Aired in 2015, this series shows the group going through multiple missions set by PLEDIS to achieve their debut.

We know the group eventually ended up debuting, so there are no major plot twists awaiting you at the end. However, the show is filled with emotional moments that will remind you of how hard SEVENTEEN had to work to get where they are and hence helps you appreciate them even more.

“One Fine Day”

“One Fine Day” is a South Korean travel variety show where the celebrity guests get to go on a relaxing and fun trip. SEVENTEEN has been on this show twice: “One Fine Day: Castaway Boys” in 2016 and “One Fine Day: In Japan” in 2017. In “Castaway Boys,” instead of going on a lavish trip, the members are stranded on an island and have to do difficult tasks to get basic necessities. “One Fine Day: In Japan” is not as harsh, but the group is split into two teams, the oldest and the youngest, and they compete with each other for allowance.

Although SEVENTEEN was quite new to variety shows back then, you can still see their natural talent as entertainers as they crack witty jokes and do silly things. However, more than that, both of these seasons capture SEVENTEEN’s humility and teamwork perfectly.

“In the SOOP”

“SEVENTEEN In the Soop” is neither a variety show nor a travel show but an outlet for SEVENTEEN members to take a break from their hectic idol life and have a breather. SEVENTEEN has appeared on this show twice, once in 2021 and a second time in 2023.

The entire premise of the show is the members staying in a quiet house in the middle of the woods and spending their days doing nothing. They cook and eat, play their favorite games, do karaoke, and exist as 13 friends away from the bright spotlight.

“NANA TOUR with SEVENTEEN”

“NANA TOUR with SEVENTEEN” is everything “One Fine Day” aspired to be. The show was produced by Na Young Seok, aka NA PD, one of South Korea’s most popular travel show producers and directors, along with the equally talented Shin Hyo Jung, the producer of “Youth Over Flowers.” “NANA TOUR with SEVENTEEN” is a seven-day vacation variety show where the NANA TOUR team kidnaps SEVENTEEN and takes them on a much-needed break after their “FOLLOW” tour.

Unfortunately, SEVENTEEN’s leader S.Coups, who was recovering from an ACL injury and surgery, was not present in this show. However, NA PD and Shin Hyo Jung made sure to include him in every episode, one way or another.

“SEVENTEEN Killing Voice”

“Killing Voice” is a music show on Dingo Music’s YouTube Channel that has artists sing a medley of their songs live to highlight their raw vocals. Currently, SEVENTEEN’s “Killing Voice” is one of the most viewed videos in this series, and you have to watch it to understand why. During this almost 20-minute-long singing segment, the members show off their vocal and rap skills, reminding the audience once again why they are one of the most popular K-pop boy groups.

“SEVENTEEN: Hit The Road”

Trigger warning: “SEVENTEEN: Hit The Road” discusses topics such as anxiety and depression, so it might not be suitable for everyone.

“SEVENTEEN: Hit The Road” is SEVENTEEN’s first-ever documentary series, following the group as they embark on their second world tour “ODE TO YOU.” This 13-episode series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at SEVENTEEN concerts and shows how much effort the members put in to make the concerts perfect.

“Magic Hour, The SEVENTEEN”

MBC’s recent documentary, “Magic Hour: The SEVENTEEN” is a special film that highlights the inner workings of the K-pop industry through a rose quartz and serenity lens. It showcases not only how SEVENTEEN has worked hard to achieve their success but also how CARATS have supported them and helped them reach their goals.

“Woozi’s Commentary LIVE”

On the release day of SEVENTEEN’s second compilation album “17 Is Right Here,” SEVENTEEN’s vocal team leader and producer, Woozi, went on WEVERSE Live and talked about the story behind some of SEVENTEEN’s hit songs. This almost three-hour long live is the best piece of media to learn about the production process behind the self-producing idol group SEVENTEEN’s music.

“SEVENTEEN Power Of Love: The Movie”

SEVENTEEN concerts are not easy to get into; one might say they sell out even before going on sale. So, it is quite difficult to experience the magic of the K-pop performance powerhouse in real-time. But “SEVENTEEN Power Of Love: The Movie” is the easiest way to see why SEVENTEEN is called the “K-pop Performance Powerhouse.” In this 2021 online concert, SEVENTEEN performs some of their best songs and brings fire on the screen.

BBC Glastonbury stage

Sometimes, groups in their almost 10th year can lose momentum, but not SEVENTEEN. The group made history once again as they became the first K-pop group to perform at Europe’s biggest music festival, Glastonbury in 2024. During their one hour on stage, SEVENTEEN turned non-K-pop listeners into CARATs; this stage is one for the history books. While the entire stage is not yet available, you can watch “MAESTRO,” “SOS,” and “AJU NICE” on the official BBC YouTube channel.

Even though SEVENTEEN has won over 100 awards in their decade-long career, the MAMA Daesang (Grand Prize) is considered one of the most prestigious achievements in the industry and the most sought-after award. In 2023, SEVENTEEN finally got their well-deserved Album of the Year Daesang, and their acceptance speech was emotional enough to bring even non-fans and other idols to tears.
