Source Music Refutes ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin's Claims + Announces Plans To Take Further Legal Action
Source Music has released a new statement accusing ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin of lying and announcing its plans to take further legal action against her.
On July 23, ADOR responded to Dispatch’s report alleging that Min Hee Jin had “stolen” the NewJeans members from Source Music with a firm denial. ADOR also claimed that Source Music had copied the launch strategy she presented to HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk in May 2020, back when Min Hee Jin was still the Chief Brand Officer (CBO) of BIGHIT MUSIC, stating that he had suggested at the time that Min Hee Jin carry out the launch strategy at her own label.
Later that day, Source Music firmly refuted these claims with a statement in which it announced that it would be taking further legal action against Min Hee Jin, on top of the lawsuit already filed against her for compensatory damages.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Because the statement ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin released today includes false claims about Source Music, we must inevitably inform you of the accurate facts.
1. Min Hee Jin’s claim that Source Music copied her launch strategy is false. Source Music has never copied then-CBO [Chief Brand Officer] Min Hee Jin’s launch strategy and has never acknowledged the content of CBO Min’s complaint.
2. Chairman Bang Si Hyuk’s opinion about the launch strategy that then-CBO Min Hee Jin proposed in May 2020 was that she carry out her proposed strategy not with N Team [the project name for the girl group that eventually became NewJeans], but with an entirely new team formed at the label established by CBO Min. Even though CEO Min is well aware of the discussion from that time, she is distorting the truth to make it seem as if Chairman Bang suggested that she carry out her launch strategy through N Team.
Min Hee Jin is continuously spreading falsehoods about Source Music, and so we are informing you that in addition to the lawsuit previously filed against CEO Min for compensatory damages, we plan to take strong legal action in response to this matter as well. We are also announcing that if necessary to prove the truth, we are willing to release the evidence we have in our possession at any time.
Thank you.
