Shin Min Ah Dishes On Her Upcoming Rom-Com Drama “No Gain No Love”

Shin Min Ah has talked about her character in the upcoming drama “No Gain No Love”!

Penned by writer Kim Hye Young of “Her Private Life,” “No Gain No Love” is a rom-com drama that tells the story of Son Hae Young (Shin Min Ah), a woman who fakes her marriage because she doesn’t want to take any loss and Kim Ji Wook (Kim Young Dae), a man who becomes her fake husband because he doesn’t want to cause any harm.

Shin Min Ah will portray Son Hae Young, who hates to lose money no matter when, where, and with whom. With her quick calculation skills, Hae Young assesses profit and loss in every aspect of her life, including studies, relationships, and work. When she is at risk of missing out on a promotion at her company, she plans a fake marriage.

Regarding the extremely calculating character Son Hae Young, Shin Min Ah shared, “Hae Young is a character who doesn’t want to lose in any situation, no matter when, where, or with whom,” adding, “Her fiercely calculating nature makes her somewhat pitiable, but at the same time, her straightforwardness is so refreshing that it was incredibly charming to portray.”

As for the part she focused on the most in her acting, she revealed, “She sometimes expresses her emotions using profane language, so I practiced a lot to make it sound natural. Also, since it was my first time playing an office worker, I put a lot of thought into the styling. I think I’ll be able to showcase various styles that reflect Hae Young’s position within the company.”

Shin Min Ah chose “No Loss,” “Calculative,” and “Tsundere” (meaning cold outward behavior while actually warm and caring) as three keywords that best describe her character Son Hae Young. She explained, “Just like her name Son Hae Young, she hates taking losses. Her straightforward and blunt manner of speaking may make her seem shrewd on the outside, but she is very tender on the inside.”

Lastly, she highlighted what viewers should focus on in the drama, saying, “You will find the drama more interesting if you follow Hae Young’s emotional journey to understand why she despises taking losses and how she ends up staging a fake wedding.” She added, “Missing out on the captivating and straightforward drama ‘No Gain No Love’ would be a loss, so please show a lot of interest and anticipation.”
