SHINee's Taemin Shares Impressions From First Filming Of "Road To Kingdom" Season 2
SHINEE’s Taemin has shared his thoughts on the new season of Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom” following the show’s first filming!
Back in 2020, the first season of “Road to Kingdom” showcased several boy groups as they competed against each other in missions every week. Although the show initially acted as a prequel to “Kingdom: Legendary War,” with the winning team automatically earning a spot in the follow-up show, this new season will function as an independent brand, spotlighting rising K-pop boy groups and introducing new benefits for the winning team.
Taemin will be hosting the upcoming season, which is called “Road to Kingdom: ACE of ACE,” and the lineup includes ONEUS, CRAVITY, TEMPEST, YOUNITE, THE NEW SIX, 8TURN, and The CrewOne (a project group formed by ATBO and JUST B).
When asked why he decided to join the show, Taemin said, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as an MC so that I can help and support junior boy groups. I truly appreciate their seeing me as a good senior.”
Regarding the atmosphere on set, he shared, “The atmosphere among the participating groups was really pleasant, and I can tell that they respect each other a lot, which was great to see. Witnessing their positive interactions, even amid competition, was very inspiring.”
Taemin also teased what viewers can expect from the new season, saying, “It was touching [to see] the stories of the participants and how much they care for their respective groups, which could be felt intuitively. I believe viewers will feel compelled to support them after seeing these sides of the groups.”
Taemin concluded, “I hope you’ll watch ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE of ACE’ and bear with me even if my hosting is awkward. I’m sure that the performances prepared by the teams will bring you both laughter and emotional moments. Please cheer for them!”
“Road to Kingdom: ACE of ACE” will premiere in September.
