Ahead of its premiere, here are three key reasons to look forward to “Love Next Door”!

The reunion of Director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”

The drama is highly anticipated as it marks the reunion of Director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun, who previously worked together on the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”

Writer Shin Ha Eun briefly discussed her inspiration for the drama’s plot. She explained, “I wanted to tell a story about youth. I recalled Samuel Ullman’s poem, ‘Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind,’ and expanded it into a story about youth regardless of age. This is a story about the most ordinary yet special people in the world as they love passionately, fight bitterly, and reconcile subtly.”

She continued, “The story centers around Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu, who have known each other since childhood. From the past, when they were forced to become bathhouse buddies by their mothers, to their growth, which they both remember differently, the drama features an epic narrative. I hope viewers enjoy it.”

Director Yoo Je Won emphasized, “Not only Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu but also Jung Mo Eum (Kim Ji Eun), Kang Dan Ho (Yun Ji On), and various other characters around them have their own interesting stories. The drama features a range of warm and endearing stories from romance to relationships between parents, children, and friends.”

He added, “While watching ‘Love Next Door,’ which tells stories about sharing each other’s joys and sorrows, I hope you can have a moment of laughter.”

The excellent chemistry between Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, and Yun Ji On

Viewers should look forward to the dynamic chemistry among the drama’s main cast: Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, and Yun Ji On. Jung Hae In takes on the role of the perfect son Choi Seung Hyo, while Jung So Min plays a daughter seeking to reset her life. Kim Ji Eun stars as Jung Mo Eum, a quirky and friendly character who believes that Superhero DNA flows through her body. Yun Ji On plays Kang Dan Ho, a caring social affairs journalist.

Director Yoo Je Won praised Jung Hae In, stating, “It’s not that I chose him but rather that our project chose him. Jung Hae In is sincere about his acting and shows deep consideration. He is an actor with a strong sense of responsibility.”

Yoo Je Won also expressed his appreciation for Jung So Min, who previously collaborated with him on the drama “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky.” He remarked, “I trusted her acting skills. I’m thankful and proud to see her develop into a great actress. She shines not only in portraying the bright character Seok Ryu but also in her charming chemistry with Seung Hyo and her emotional scenes with her mother.”

He added, “Kim Ji Eun has done a great job bringing out the unique qualities of Jung Mo Eum. Her skilled acting often surprises me. Yun Ji On did a great job embodying the character of Kang Dan Ho. His quirky side is endearing, and his charm grows on you gradually.”

The adults in the Hyeryeong neighborhood

Actors Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, and Lee Seung Joon, who play the residents of Hyeryeong neighborhood, will add depth and excitement to the drama with their excellent acting skills.

Park Ji Young plays Na Mi Sook, Bae Seok Ryu’s mother who appears tough on the surface but deeply cares for her children. Jo Han Chul portrays Bae Geun Sik, Seok Ryu’s father who runs a small snack shop in the Hyeryeong neighborhood.

Jang Young Nam plays Choi Seung Hyo’s mother Seo Hye Sook, while Lee Seung Joon plays his devoted father Choi Kyung Jong, who is also a medical professor.
