TXT's Taehyun And Huening Kai Talk About Their Onstage Chemistry, Imagine If They'd Met In A School Band, And More
TXT’s Taehyun and Huening Kai joined Elle Korea for a captivating photo shoot and interview!
The concept for their pictorial was imagining what it would be like if the two were in the same school band, and accordingly, the shoot took place at a real performance venue.
In the interview following the photo shoot, the duo was asked how their relationship might have evolved if they had met in a school band. Taehyun said, “Since Huening Kai is good at playing musical instruments, I think I would have approached him by asking related questions.” Huening Kai answered, “Even if we had met in a school club, I think Taehyun would still have been full of passion.”
Regarding the YouTube series “HUENINGKAI Wants to Start a Band,” in which Huening Kai showcases his musical talents, he shared, “I enjoyed getting a glimpse of college life. There were so many students with unique personalities.” Taehyun added, “Our albums explore various genres, and to do that, having real instruments is absolutely necessary. Having members who can directly understand these instruments is a significant musical advantage for TXT.”
When asked about their onstage dynamics, Taehyun said, “On stage, there’s no one I rely on more than Huening Kai. I can see up close that he remains unaffected in any situation.” Huening Kai similarly remarked, “Taehyun is also the member who remains the most consistent. I didn’t notice this at the beginning of our debut, but I’ve come to realize that Taehyun performs well during every performance every time we make a comeback. It’s amazing how consistently he performs well.”
Finally, regarding the qualities they hope to see unchanged in each other, Taehyun appreciated Huening Kai’s “let’s just do it” attitude, while Huening Kai valued Taehyun’s sound judgment and steadfast belief in himself.
Taehyun and Huening Kai’s full interview and pictorial can be found in the September issue of Elle Korea.
