Previously, viewers saw Choi Sun Hee grappling with the death of a friend, only to be thrust into a nightmare when she is named a suspect in the case. The deepening mystery reveals new, suspicious details, leaving everyone questioning the truth.
Here are three key elements driving the suspense in “Perfect Family”:
Kim Byung Chul and Yoon Se Ah’s suspicious behavior
Ha Eun Joo was initially stunned to learn that her daughter Sun Hee might have killed someone, but she quickly regained her composure. Jin Hyuk, too, remained eerily calm when the police arrived to investigate the murder involving Sun Hee. Adding to the mystery, the phone and workbook Sun Hee left at Park Kyung Ho’s (Kim Young Dae’s) house on the day of the incident somehow reappeared at their home.
In episode 4, Jin Hyuk asked Eun Joo, “Should we move up the plan?” This cryptic question left viewers on edge, wondering if the couple is trying to cover up the murder or protect their daughter. Their actions only add to the growing sense of unease.
Park Ju Hyun’s pursuit of the truth
Sun Hee was at the scene when Kyung Ho died and even confessed to killing him, intensifying the tension and casting a spotlight on her every move. As her parents began acting more suspiciously, Sun Hee took it upon herself to uncover the truth.
She eventually entered a secret room her father had forbidden her from accessing. Inside, she discovered a picture frame with a photo of a child that piqued her curiosity. Determined to find answers, Sun Hee visited Mrs. Han (Jeon Guk Hyang) to learn more about the mysterious family photo. Another disturbing moment came when Sun Hee found a keychain in her father’s car, one that had been taken from her by the missing Soo Yeon (Choi Ye Bin). The deeper Sun Hee dug, the more tangled the web of suspicion and strange occurrences became.
Choi Ye Bin’s secretive actions
Soo Yeon pressured Sun Hee to confess to something she didn’t do, demanding she pay for a childhood debt. Her suspicious behavior escalated when she appeared at the scene the day after a fire at Kyung Ho’s house, only to vanish after making eye contact with the police. Her whereabouts became increasingly unclear.
After heading to the police station to turn herself in, Soo Yeon mysteriously disappeared again, this time after getting into a black car with an unknown person. Later that night, she was found unconscious, having been struck on the head with a hammer, leaving everyone questioning what had happened to her. As Sun Hee desperately searched for her, she received a text from Soo Yeon. Sun Hee rushed to the school, but Soo Yeon was nowhere to be found, deepening the mystery.
The next episode of “Perfect Family” airs on August 28 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
