Kim Nayoung And Seo Byeok Jun Confirmed For New Short-Form Drama
Former gugudan member Kim Nayoung and Seo Byeok Jun will be starring in a new drama together!
On August 27, it was officially announced that Kim Na Young and Seo Byeok Joon had been cast as the leads in upcoming drama “My Boyfriend’s Smartphone” (literal translation).
Written and directed by Lee Seok Yong, the short-form thriller will star Kim Na Young as Ji Yoo, who runs a couple YouTube channel. Seo Byeok Jun will star as Ji Yoo’s affectionate and caring boyfriend Su Ho, who wins over subscribers with his sweet, loving nature. When Ji Yoo accidentally winds up looking through her boyfriend’s smartphone, she becomes embroiled in a suspenseful chase.
In the drama, Ji Yoo discovers hidden secrets about her trusted boyfriend Su Ho and seeks revenge. The character is determined and unflinching, confronting harsh truths with a strong, composed presence.
Kim Nayoung, who debuted as a member of girl group gugudan in 2016, started her acting career with the musical “Mefisto” in 2019. She has since appeared in musicals, theaters and web dramas, steadily building her career.
Meanwhile, Seo Byeok Joon has taken on diverse roles in his career, appearing in dramas like “Dare to Love Me,” “Strangers Again,” and “Let’s Eat 3: Begins.” In “Battle for Happiness,” he brought tension to the story with his villainous role. In contrast, in “The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch,” he delivered a heartfelt romance that captivated viewers.
“My Boyfriend’s Smartphone” will premiere later in the year on the global content platform SHORTIME, launching simultaneously in South Korea, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan.
