Jeon Jong Seo Dishes On Her Upcoming Historical Drama "Queen Woo"
Actress Jeon Jong Seo joined fashion magazine Elle for a pictorial and interview!
Jeon Jong Seo recently took part in a photo shoot for Elle magazine, with a concept that captured her serene and mysterious beauty under the moonlight.
In the interview that followed the photo shoot, Jeon Jong Seo talked about her upcoming TVING drama “Queen Woo,” which is set to release its first part on August 29. Reflecting on her experience filming her first-ever historical drama, she shared, “At first, it felt like a task, but as I acted, I gained new energy, both physically and mentally. Although the drama incorporates fantasy elements, it’s based on a real historical figure, which made me feel a bit pressured. I think I pondered how to blend my own style into the tone of the dialogue while maintaining balance with the story.”
Regarding her character, Queen Woo Hee, who becomes a target for princes vying for the throne and various tribes seeking power, she said, “I was drawn to her because she is an ambitious, honest, and progressive woman. When you look back at history, it seems that women who played important roles and had stories worth telling were often overlooked. As a Korean actress, I thought it would be very meaningful to portray a woman who played a key role in history.”
Jeon Jong Seo, who has challenged herself with various genres from thrillers to action and romantic comedies, remarked, “The question of what the public will like is always a puzzle that I must keep solving. The anticipation before a project’s release always makes me nervous, and sometimes it scares me. But it’s also a moment when I become more coolheaded. I will continue to work diligently and prepare step by step for the opportunity to show new sides of myself.”
Jeon Jong Seo’s full pictorial and interview will be available in the September issue of Elle Korea.
