Lee Jun Hyuk Returns As A Prosecutor In “Forest Of Secrets” Spin-Off “Dongjae, The Good Or The Bastard” With First Poster

The spin-off of “Forest of Secrets,” titled “Dongjae, The Good or the Bastard,” has unveiled its first poster!

The original series follows an emotionless prosecutor and a warm-hearted police officer who team up to uncover hidden mysteries and tackle corruption. In “Forest of Secrets,” Lee Jun Hyuk played Seo Dong Jae, a corrupt prosecutor.

In the spin-off “Dongjae: The Good or the Bastard,” Lee Jun Hyuk reprises his role as Seo Dong Jae. The series focuses on Dong Jae’s challenges as a prosecutor at the Cheongju District Prosecutors’ Office, struggling with a tarnished reputation due to his past corruption. Seo Dong Jae will face off against Nam Wan Sung (Park Sung Woong), the CEO of Lee Hong Construction. Their intense and gripping conflict uncovers past errors and adds excitement to the storyline.

Lee Su Yeon, who wrote the first two seasons of “Forest of Secrets,” returns as a creator. The writing team includes Hwang Ha Jung and Kim Sang Won from the original series, with Park Geon Ho as the director.

The teaser released earlier generated buzz by hinting at a new chapter in Seo Dong Jae’s dramatic story. Meanwhile, new released poster further intrigues by showcasing Seo Dong Jae’s dual nature. His sharp gaze and subtle smile highlight the seasoned prosecutor’s charisma.

The poster shows Seo Dong Jae with a sharply divided, shadowy face, highlighting his dual nature and sparking curiosity. Renowned for his sharp insight and skilled handling of complex cases, Seo Dong Jae is now ready to face new challenges. Attention is focused on what fresh cases the prosecutor, who has returned from a figurative hell, will tackle next.

The production team said, “We aimed to explore a new story from Seo Dong Jae’s viewpoint, highlighting both his cunning and humane sides. This inspired us to create the spin-off drama as a TVING original. As the title suggests, Seo Dong Jae, who was beloved for his complexity throughout the season, will bring a fresh kind of enjoyment to this TVING original, distinct from ‘Forest of Secrets.’”

“Dongjae, The Good or the Bastard” airs on October 10 via TVING.
