Jeon So Nee, Lee Yoo Mi, Jang Seung Jo, And Lee Moo Saeng Confirmed To Star In New Thriller Drama
Jeon So Nee, Lee Yoo Mi, Jang Seung Jo, and Lee Moo Saeng will be starring in a drama together!
“As You Stood By” (working title) follows two women who are driven to the brink, facing an inescapable reality that forces them to consider murder as their only way out. The drama will be directed by Lee Jung Rim, who directed “VIP” and “Revenant.”
Jeon So Nee, known for her roles in “Soulmate,” “Encounter,” and “Our Blooming Youth,” is set to play the role of Eun Su, a luxury department store employee. In this role, she will portray a character who has lived with trauma since childhood and makes a critical decision to save her friend Hee Su, who suffers similar pain.
Lee Yoo Mi, who made a strong impression in “Young Adult Matters,” “Squid Game,” and “All of Us Are Dead,” will play Hee Su, Eun Su’s friend who is caught in a cycle of violence.
Once a promising children’s book author, Hee Su is trapped in a nightmarish situation due to her abusive husband and plans to kill him with Eun Su. The collaboration between Jeon So Nee and Lee Yoo Mi, along with other talented actors, is expected to deepen the show’s appeal and engagement.
Jang Seung Jo, known for his roles in “Familiar Wife” and “The Good Detective” series, will play Hee Su’s husband Jin Pyo and is set to bring intense tension to the show through his character.
Lee Moo Saeng, known for his roles in “The Glory,” “Hide,” and “Noryang: Deadly Sea,” will portray Jin So Baek, the CEO of Jin Gang Company. In the drama, Jin So Baek will become a crucial ally, uncovering Eun Su and Hee Su’s plans and offering them support, which will add significant depth to the drama.
“As You Stood By” is notably based on Okuda Hideo’s novel “Naomi & Kanako,” which garnered attention for its unique storytelling and suspenseful depiction of characters facing violence. The series, built on this compelling novel, features a talented cast and a strong production team. It is expected to deeply explore the lives of those trapped in a nightmarish reality and challenge those who have ignored violence.
