"Music Bank In Madrid" Looking To Move To New Venue After Cancellation By Santiago Bernabéu Stadium
Update: “Music Bank In Madrid” Is Officially Back On; New Venue Confirmed
Original Article:
“Music Bank in Madrid” is searching for a new venue.
On September 13, Real Madrid announced that all concerts scheduled to take place at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium had been cancelled until March 2025 “due to ongoing noise complaints from local residents.”
This mass cancellation included “Music Bank in Madrid,” which was scheduled to take place at the stadium on October 12—less than a month away.
On September 19, KBS’s “Music Bank” released an official complaint about the unilateral cancellation, stating that neither they nor any of the event’s organizers had received any sort of official notification from Real Madrid regarding the cancellation before the news was published in the local media.
Several days later, on September 24 KST, event organizer Korean Power released a new statement announcing that they were “working on different options” to be able to hold the concert in a new venue.
The company also revealed that a delegation from “Music Bank” had arrived in Madrid “to make the required visits and evaluate the technical viability of the different proposals, in order to make a final decision.”
Korean Power’s full English statement is as follows:
Good afternoon,
In the last few days, we have been working on different options to be able to hold Music Bank Madrid, with different types of formats and locations, due to the refusal of the Santiago Bernabéu to hold it in its stadium.
A delegation from KBS Music Bank has arrived to Madrid to make the required visits and evaluate the technical viability of the different proposals, in order to make a final decision. We are very close to being able to give you a final answer to this whole situation.
Once again, we would like to thank you for the patience, understanding and support you are showing us, which we extend to all the KBS team and the bands.
Although the fate of the event is now unclear, the original lineup for “Music Bank in Madrid” included aespa, BOYNEXTDOOR, ENHYPEN, KISS OF LIFE, MAMAMOO+, NMIXX, P1Harmony, and RIIZE.
Stay tuned for updates.
