Kim Go Eun And Noh Sang Hyun Dish On Their Chemistry In "Love In The Big City," Personal Views On Love, And More
“Love in the Big City” stars Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun have joined Elle Korea for a pictorial and interview!
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Park Sang Young, “Love in the Big City” is a romance film about a pair of unlikely roommates. Although their lifestyles match in nearly every way—making them ideal partners for cohabitation—the two friends have polar-opposite views on romance.
The pictorial highlights the cool and friendly chemistry of Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun, who portray close friends in the film “Love in the Big City.”
In an interview after the photo shoot, Kim Go Eun, who plays Jae Hee, shared what attracted her to the film. “It’s a story that doesn’t feel forced,” she said. “It presents itself casually, as if to say, ‘There are people with these stories.’ It reflects concerns that everyone has experienced or may experience, making it special but not overly extraordinary.”
Kim Go Eun shared her thoughts about her co-star Noh Sang Hyun, who plays Heung Soo. “I was really shy when I first met him,” she said. The actress continued, “He seems strong on the outside, but once you get to know him, he’s playful and laughs like a child. That contrast is very charming. We filmed a lot in home settings, where we asked each other questions and had many conversations while acting. I still remember those moments well.”
When asked about her personal approach to love, Kim Go Eun said, “Just sincerity. In any relationship, I try to be fully present and have no regrets. Relationships can end at any time, and their duration doesn’t really matter. I don’t want to have regrets, so I always give my best. I also don’t let pride get in the way because I want to avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary conflicts.”
Noh Sang Hyun explained why he was drawn to the project, saying, “The script is honest and relatable, and I quickly became immersed in it. Heung Soo is a character who keeps his distance from the world and doesn’t easily let others in, which I can relate to as well. I approached him in a fun and imaginative way.”
Regarding his chemistry with Kim Go Eun, he said, “As an actor and as a person, I’ve heard many good things about her. I knew she was a talented actress who works incredibly hard, but experiencing it firsthand made me appreciate that even more. She’s a caring person who pays attention to others, but she also has a sensitive side, making her a well-rounded individual.”
When it comes to love, Noh Sang Hyun said, “I try to be as honest as possible. I can’t hold on to frustrating feelings. If I ignore things that need to be addressed, it feels like I’m leaving a time bomb that will eventually explode. I believe that for a healthy relationship, both people should be honest while also being polite to each other.”
