NewJeans, Jungkook, aespa, IVE, G-Dragon, LE SSERAFIM, BTS, And TREASURE Earn RIAJ Platinum And Gold Certifications In Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.

NewJeans earned two official certifications this month: their 2023 hit “OMG” was certified double platinum after surpassing 200 million streams in Japan, while their debut track “Attention” was certified platinum for surpassing 100 million streams.

BTS’s Jungkook’s solo debut track “Seven” (featuring Latto) was also certified platinum after reaching 100 million streams in Japan.

BTS also earned two official gold certifications as a group for their B-sides “Dimple” and “Dionysus,” both of which surpassed 50 million streams in Japan.

Other songs to be certified gold this month included aespa’s “Girls,” the Japanese version of BIGBANG’s G-Dragon’s solo hit “Crooked,” and LE SSERAFIM’s “EASY.”

Meanwhile, both IVE’s Japanese EP “ALIVE” and TREASURE’s Japanese single “KING KONG / REVERSE” were certified gold for over 100,000 physical units shipped in Japan each.

Congratulations to all of the artists!
