Jung Young Joo Is The Most Influential Woman Opposing Kim So Yeon In Their Village In "A Virtuous Business"

Upcoming drama “A Virtuous Business” has shared brand new stills featuring Jung Young Joo, Park Ok Chool, Park Ji Ah, Kim Sun Mi, and Joo In Young!

A remake of the British television series “Brief Encounters,” “A Virtuous Business” will tell the story of the independence, growth, and friendship of four women who delve into door-to-door sales of adult products in a rural village back in 1992, when it was still taboo to talk about sex.

The drama is set in the rural village of Geumje, where a group of influential women control the town’s public opinion. This group consists of Heo Young Ja (Jung Young Joo), the leader who runs a real estate office, along with a woman who runs the local supermarket (Park Ok Chool), a butcher shop owner (Park Ji Ah), a rice shop owner (Kim Sun Mi), and a hardware store owner (Joo In Young).

When they get along, they function like a perfect team, but when they disagree, they constantly bicker and make snide remarks behind each other’s backs. Their leader Young Ja is the most influential and especially skilled at making underhanded comments.

On the surface, Young Ja seems to have it all: a wealthy husband, grown children, and a happy family. However, her marriage has just been for show for a long time. Her daughter remains unmarried as she ages, and her son struggles with his education and career, leaving Young Ja frustrated. Unable to openly discuss these issues, she finds comfort in gossiping about others.

The targets of her gossip are the four saleswomen, who roam the village selling unusual products that make the more conservative housewives uncomfortable. Young Ja and her friends band together to protect the village’s morals.

As the influential women spread gossip, the saleswomen face greater challenges. To succeed in their door-to-door sales, they must win over these powerful women.

In newly released stills, the influential women are shown reacting in shock to the brightly colored lingerie and suggestive products being sold by Han Jung Sook (Kim So Yeon).

Commenting on the actresses’ performances, the production team stated, “These veteran actresses will bring a wave of laughter to the drama. Please look forward to the performances of Jung Young Joo, Park Ok Chool, Park Ji Ah, Kim Sun Mi, and Joo In Young, who will leave a lasting impression.”

“A Virtuous Business” will premiere on October 12 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
