Ha Sung Woon’s Agency Responds To Baek Yerin’s Plagiarism Allegations Over

Ha Sung Woon’s agency has addressed the recent plagiarism controversy surrounding his “Love Next Door” OST, “What are we.”

On October 4, the OST “What are we,” sung by Ha Sung Woon for the tvN drama “Love Next Door”, sparked accusations of plagiarism online, with many netizens pointing out its striking similarity to Baek Yerin’s 2019 track “0310,” which she personally composed and wrote.

Baek Yerin herself personally addressed the issue on Instagram, voicing her frustration with a post that read, “It must you to suck copying. Feel bad. If you want a song like mine, please ask me so.” She also reposted several Instagram Stories from fans, which included comments like “Why do I hear ‘0310’?” and “Is it okay to release a remake (LOL) just as you wish without the original artist knowing?”

In light of the growing controversy, Ha Sung Woon’s agency Big Planet Made Entertainment has issued an official statement clarifying the situation:

Hello, this is Big Planet Made Entertainment.

Regarding the plagiarism allegations raised by Baek Yerin on SNS today (October 4) concerning the OST ‘What are we’ from the drama ‘Love Next Door’ sung by Ha Sung Woon, we would like to clarify that Ha Sung Woon has no involvement in this plagiarism matter.

Both Ha Sung Woon and Big Planet Made Entertainment participated solely as a vocalist for the OST at the request of the drama’s production company and had no involvement in the songwriting, composition, or arrangement of ‘What are we.’

Nonetheless, we deeply regret that the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon has become embroiled in a plagiarism dispute and caused concern among fans.

We would like to reiterate that Ha Sung Woon is not involved in this plagiarism issue, and we hope for an amicable resolution between Baek Yerin and the OST production company.
