Kim Tae Ri Loses Her Confidence While Auditioning For Ra Mi Ran In 'Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born'

tvN’s “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” has revealed a sneak peek of Kim Tae Ri’s audition for the Maeran theater troupe!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” is a new drama set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War. Kim Tae Ri stars as the titular Jeong Nyeon, a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor.

Spoilers

On the first episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born,” Jeong Nyeon had a fateful meeting with Moon Ok Kyung (Jung Eun Chae), who immediately spotted her innate talent for singing. In spite of her mother’s vehement protests, Jeong Nyeon ultimately decided to audition for the Maeran theater troupe and pursue her new dream.

However, in newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Jeong Nyeon’s plucky confidence from the premiere is nowhere to be found as she nervously auditions for the troupe. Under the hawk-like eyes of Kang So Bok, the intimidating leader of the Maeran troupe, Jeong Nyeon looks downcast as she holds her injured shoulder with one hand in front of the panel of judges.

Although Jeong Nyeon is a natural when it comes to singing, she must also be evaluated for dancing and acting. Will she be able to successfully wrap up her audition and impress the judges?

Meanwhile, Kang So Bok’s gaze looks strangely conflicted as she stares at Jeong Nyeon, piquing curiosity as to what sort of mixed feelings she’s experiencing—and why. Will she, like Moon Ok Kyung, be able to spot Jeong Nyeon’s hidden potential?

To find out how Jeong Nyeon’s audition goes, tune in to the next episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” on October 13 at 9:20 p.m. KST!
