Lee Jong Won Discusses Why He Chose To Star In “Brewing Love,” Shares Character Insights, And More

Lee Jong Won has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Brewing Love”!

“Brewing Love” depicts the heart-fluttering love story between Chae Yong Joo (Kim Sejeong), a super passionate sales king at a liquor company who hides her emotions, and Yoon Min Joo (Lee Jong Won), a super sensitive brewery owner who is adept at catching people’s emotions.

Lee Jong Won portrays Yoon Min Joo, a brewery owner and brewmaster who disrupts the liquor industry. Like a delicate ale, Yoon Min Joo is an empath with a keen ability to sense the emotions of others. To prevent emotional overload, he has learned to shut himself off from those feelings. While living a quiet life in a serene rural town and focusing on brewing beer and his own emotions, he finds himself increasingly drawn to Chae Yong Joo, who captures his attention.

The released photos showcase the daily life of Yoon Min Joo, a sensitive empath. He enjoys warm and peaceful moments, and an intriguing expression appears on his face as he closes his eyes to focus on his feelings. In images of him working alone at the brewery, his role as a brewmaster shines through as he finds comfort in brewing beer.

However, in another photo, Yoon Min Joo displays signs of discomfort, raising curiosity. His cautious gaze reveals his sensitivity and tendency to shut himself off from others. This prompts questions about the changes that may be coming for Yoon Min Joo, who has been living a stable life in his own space.

Lee Jong Won shared his reasons for choosing the project, stating, “Yong Joo’s confidence and willingness to sacrifice for others contrast with Min Joo’s sensitivity and focus on living for himself. I found the journey of discovering their common ground to be fascinating. The script is charming, highlighting similarities that are clearly different and creating a compelling intersection.”

He also noted, “The most appealing aspect is how Yong Joo and Min Joo embrace and learn from their differences as they change. The warm story that everyone—townspeople and brewery staff alike—creates together is also captivating.”

When discussing the character of Min Joo, Lee Jong Won said, “He is very sensitive and deeply feels the emotions of others, allowing him to share profound feelings with many people.” He added, “Min Joo’s unique way of interpreting and expressing emotions will be a major draw. Additionally, the character’s subtle clumsiness and awkward moments provide an interesting twist.”

Lee Jong Won shared insight into his approach to acting, sharing, “While acting, I focused on truly empathizing and connecting by looking into my scene partner’s eyes. I felt that if I were Min Joo, I would look into their eyes and absorb their emotions.”
