ILLIT is back with new music!
On October 21, ILLIT held their press showcase for their second mini album “I’LL LIKE YOU,” highlighting their latest album as well as their title track “Cherish (My Love).”
To kick-off the press conference, Moka shared, “This album, we want to showcase charms unique to ILLIT. We worked hard to show how we’ve improved from the last album.”
The ILLIT members took to the stage to showcase their latest title track “Cherish (My Love).” Yunah shared, “I was a little nervous because it was a different vibe from our previous songs, but I felt that it is ILLIT’s song after practicing together with the members.”
In regards to the adorable choreography that matches the catchy song, Minju mentioned, “It’s fun to try and count how many hearts we make in the choreography.” The music video also features the theme of wisdom teeth. Yunah added, “I recently got my wisdom teeth removed,” explaining that they used the concept of “wisdom teeth club” for the music video visuals.
When asked about recent controversies surrounding HYBE, Yunah responded, “We thought of the fans who supported us,” sharing that they focused on working hard to showcase their second mini album. She continued, “We want to protect our fans’ love, so we want to focus on showcasing our colors even more.”
The members also dished on their thoughts about the response to their hit song “Magnetic.” Iroha shared, “My friends often send me photos when they see pictures of us or hear our music on the streets,” sharing that her friends are also happy for the group’s success.
Looking forward to promotions for their latest comeback, Moka revealed that she wants to film a short-form challenge video with FIFTY FIFTY as she personally knows some of the members.
Minju, who recently became an MC for “Music Bank,” shared, “As our first place promise, we were thinking of doing the encore performance while wearing cherry headbands since ‘cherish’ sounds like ‘cherry.'” Wonhee further elaborated, “My small goal [for this comeback] is that I want to win No. 1 because I think I would be really happy if I were to receive a trophy from Minju.” Moka added, “I think it would be fun to do the encore using props related to wisdom teeth from the music video.”
Wrapping up, Yunah added that one of the titles she wants to earn from this comeback is “idols representing the 5th generation.”
