Honey Lee Dishes On Reprising Her Role In “The Fiery Priest 2" And Reuniting With The Crew

Honey Lee has talked about her upcoming drama “The Fiery Priest 2”!

SBS’s “The Fiery Priest,” which first aired in 2019 and recorded a peak viewership rating of 22.0 percent, is about a Catholic priest with anger management issues and a cowardly detective who work together to solve a murder case. Kim Nam Gil, Honey Lee, Kim Sung Kyun, and more from Season 1 will be reprising their roles in the upcoming season.

In Season 2, Honey Lee’s character Park Kyung Sun assists Kim Hae Il (Kim Nam Gil) as a powerful ally. The newly released stills capture Park Kyung Sun heading to Busan to support Kim Hae Il. In one photo, she is seen wearing sunglasses and dressed entirely in black, including a trench coat, confidently walking with a charismatic expression. In another, she is captured peeking out from behind a door with a bright smile on her face, while a different image shows her focusing intently on her work.

Regarding reprising her role in the upcoming season, Honey Lee expressed her excitement, saying, “I feel so happy and grateful, and it’s amazing to be able to film again.”

She continued, “In Season 1, Park Kyung Sun started as a corrupt prosecutor but transformed into a righteous one after meeting Father Kim Hae Il. In Season 2, she becomes a strong ally to him.” Honey Lee teased, “Previously, Kyung Sun didn’t have much to rely on in physical confrontations except for her grit, but in Season 2, she’ll have some action scenes, which I think will make things more exciting.”

Talking about the atmosphere on set after reuniting with “The Fiery Priest” team after five years, Honey Lee revealed, “Even though it’s been five years, I’ve stayed in touch with the director and cast, so it didn’t feel strange to see them again on set. It was like we had just seen each other yesterday, and from the very first scene, everything felt as comfortable as if it were a continuation of Season 1.”

The production praised Honey Lee, stating, “Honey Lee is a treasure on set, with her mix of gentle charisma and playfulness. Please look forward to Park Kyung Sun’s dynamic return.”

“The Fiery Priest 2” is set to premiere on November 8 at 10 p.m. KST as the follow-up to “The Judge from Hell.”
