Update: 2024 MAMA Awards Teases Band Collab Stage With Beomgyu, Huening Kai, Jay, Kim Tae Rae, And Han Yu Jin

2024 MAMA Awards has teased a new special stage!

On November 18, the 2024 MAMA Awards hinted at a boy band collaboration with the group name TOENZE.

TOENZE will consist of TXT’s Beomgyu and Huening Kai, ENHYPEN’s Jay, and ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Tae Rae and Han Yu Jin.

The members will time slip to the year 1995, showcasing the vibes from that time period, with each member showcasing an instrument on stage. Furthermore, Beomgyu, Huening Kai, and Kim Tae Rae all have experience being in a band during their school days, making the stage even more complete.

TOENZE will perform on Day 1 of the MAMA Awards on November 22 at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan.

2024 MAMA Awards has teased an array of exciting performances!

On October 29, CJ ENM held a media day where Chief Producer (CP) Yoon Shin Hye of Music Planning and Production, Lee Sun Hyung from the Music Convention Business Team, and Roh Mi Rae from the Media Art Creation Team unveiled exciting plans for this year’s event.

Roh Mi Rae shared, “We’ve prepared a 360-degree surround stage, an exclusive experience that you’ll only find at MAMA.”

She continued, “This year’s MAMA will feature a collaborative stage with PLAVE and Lee Young Ji, which will be an incredibly fun performance.” She added, “Members from ENHYPEN, TXT, and ZEROBASEONE will also come together to form a band. Please look forward to seeing which members will play which instruments as they perform a track that will take viewers back in time.”

Regarding another special stage, she further revealed, “TXT’s Yeonjun will have a collaborative performance with a robot, and (G)I-DLE will deliver an even larger mega stage than last year. We’ll also have a ‘Super Stage,’ a ‘Wonder Stage,’ and a ‘Cinematic Stage.’”

The highlight of this year’s MAMA Awards is undoubtedly G-Dragon, who has been confirmed as part of the lineup as a solo artist, marking his first MAMA Awards performance in nine years since 2015. CP Yoon Shin Hye explained, “We were considering ways to make this year’s stage distinctive, and the iconic G-Dragon, who’s set to make his comeback this year, came to mind. G-Dragon himself holds the MAMA stage in high regard and has expressed that he intends to deliver a memorable performance this year. We’re confident he will create another iconic stage that will be remembered for the next 10 to 20 years. We can also sense his confidence in his ability to command the stage.”

With previous reports suggesting a possible full BIGBANG reunion, anticipation was high, but so far, only G-Dragon has been confirmed in the lineup. CP Yoon Shin Hye left the possibility open, adding, “BIGBANG’s appearance is still under discussion. We’ll provide an update once we have a final decision.”

The 2024 MAMA Awards will be held on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and on November 22 and 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The event will be broadcast live worldwide on Mnet.
