MBC’s upcoming drama “When the Phone Rings” has released a new teaser!
Based on a popular web novel, “When the Phone Rings” tells the story of Baek Sa Eon (Yoo Yeon Seok) and Hong Hee Joo (Chae Soo Bin), a couple that married for convenience—and the the romance that blossoms between them after a threatening phone call.
In the newly released teaser, Baek Sa Eon and his wife Hong Hee Joo live through a marriage of convenience with broken communication. Sa Eon warns Hee Joo not to make her name or face public and coldly tells her, “Don’t mix emotions between us.” His attempts to hide his wife’s existence spark curiosity.
The seemingly perfect life of the couple begins to unravel as Sa Eon receives a threatening phone call claiming that Hee Joo has been kidnapped. After the call, Sa Eon, who once appeared emotionless, shows signs of change and grows suspicious and jealous of Hee Joo’s college senior Ji Sang Woo (Heo Nam Jun). He asks, “Did you say he was your college senior? You also said that he is a nice person, too.”
After the call, Sa Eon starts watching Hee Joo’s every move. Ironically, they begin to connect as Hee Joo—who is being watched—communicates with Sa Eon using sign language. Meanwhile, the mysterious person behind the threats warns, “Once I start, I finish,” showing no signs of backing down. This adds to the suspense and raises questions about the identity behind the blackmailer.
