11 Idols You Can Count On To Nail A Dance Challenge Every Time
Dance challenges are now a regular part of promotions when it comes to new K-pop releases, with choreo ranging from beginner level to some of the toughest moves out there. No matter what though, you can always count on these 11 idols to make it look fantastic! They really bring the energy and the commitment to every choreography.
Stray Kids’ Hyunjin
Widely known as one of K-pop’s best dancers, it’s pretty tough to match Taemin’s energy. Stray Kids’ Hyunjin does it effortlessly though, bringing his own style and swagger to the challenge for “Guilty.” Don’t be fooled—they might make it look easy, but this choreo requires an incredible level of body control and understanding of beats!
TWICE’s Momo
Performing with another idol renowned for his dance skills, TWICE’s Momo rose to the challenge! She brought her own flair to Kai’s “Rover” challenge, demonstrating just how well she emphasizes the various points in this choreography. She’s received a lot of praise for her performance on “Rover,” but Momo never fails when it comes to a dance challenge!
TXT’s Taehyun
While some male idols shy away from cuter choreographies, TXT’s Taehyun brings his all to every dance challenge! He looks like he could fit right in with the ILLIT members on this performance of “Cherish,” and he’s known for being able to match the energy of anyone he’s performing with. He’s definitely an underrated dance talent!
NMIXX’s Kyujin
A frequent feature on other groups’ dance challenges, you can see just from this rendition of ITZY’s B-side “Mr. Vampire” just how passionate Kyujin is about dance! The NMIXX member has featured on tons of different dance challenges and slayed them all. Her energy is contagious, and it makes her so fun to watch while she’s performing!
ENHYPEN’s Ni-Ki
While no TXT choreography is ever going to be easy, this section of “I’ll See You There Tomorrow” is especially difficult—look at the speed and the level of detail in every move! Ni-Ki of ENHYPEN practically makes it look easy, and matches Yeonjun’s energy with no problem. He’s a dance prodigy who’s certainly earned his title!
aespa’s Karina
With dance touted as one of her best skills right from debut, aespa’s Karina does not disappoint! She hits every single move in Taeyong’s “Tap” challenge with immaculate hip hop swagger. In fact, one of Karina’s best talents as a dancer is her ability to work with others in a performance—and this challenge is the perfect demonstration of that!
SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi
The idol of a thousand dance challenges, you know it’s serious when SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi goes straight for the dance break! This is some seriously challenging footwork, but Hoshi executes cleanly and with all the energy of a true performer. He’s been in a million and one dance challenges for a reason—he makes any choreography look like his own!
ILLIT’s Iroha
The youngest member of ILLIT may be a newbie on the scene, but Iroha is already proving that she’s a force to be reckoned with when it comes to dance challenges! She’s starred in several since ILLIT’s debut, and she brings the energy to every single one. Her sharp moves and animated facial expressions make her exciting to watch while she’s performing.
ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han Bin
Another ITZY choreography that’s no walk in the park, Sung Han Bin of ZEROBASEONE has this dance down. He’s well-suited to this choreography in particular thanks to his tutting training, but don’t count him out when it comes to other styles of dance as well. He’s in pretty much every dance challenge these days for a reason—he’s just that good!
Lee Chae Yeon
Former IZ*ONE member and soloist Lee Chae Yeon has been known as one of K-pop’s best female dancers for a while now. That doesn’t make SEVENTEEN’s choreographies easy, but she performs “Super” with a smile! She hits every single mark and doesn’t leave out any of the details. She has a habit of making any challenge look like she could do it in her sleep!
BTS’s Jimin
Yes, another Taemin choreography—they’re some of the most complex in the industry, so it’s a high bar! It’s the fluidity of Jimin’s movements and his perfect body control that make the “Guilty” challenge look so good. He not only hits the point moves, but also makes sure that every step in between looks seamless and clean. It’s tougher than it looks!
