Kim Hae Sook, Jung Ji So, Jung Jinyoung, Chae Won Bin, And More Bring Their Characters To Life At Script Reading For 'Miss Granny'

KBS2’s upcoming drama “Miss Granny” has shared a sneak peek of its first script reading!

A remake of the film of the same name, which has spawned multiple remakes in other countries, “Miss Granny” is a music romance drama about a grandmother in her 70s named Oh Mal Soon who suddenly transforms into a 20-year-old Oh Doo Ri and gets to enjoy her golden years once again.

At the script reading, director Park Yong Soon and writer Heo Seung Min were joined by lead cast members Kim Hae Sook, Jung Ji So, Jung Jinyoung, Chae Won Bin, and more. The reading began with a sense of excitement and tension as the actors dove into their roles and began to find their rhythm.

Kim Hae Sook, playing the tough grandmother Oh Mal Soon, took control from the start with her powerful performance. She skillfully portrayed the strong-willed Korean grandmother, building anticipation for the story’s direction under her lead.

Jung Ji So fully embraced the role of Oh Doo Ri, a bold, carefree character known for her unpredictability and charm. She brought the complex character to life with sharp line delivery and effortlessly switched between the nuances of being in her 20s and 70s, adding vibrant energy to the set.

Jung Jinyoung, playing Daniel Han, the skilled producer at Eunice Entertainment, impressed with a steady performance. Known for excelling in any genre, he perfectly captured the essence of Daniel Han, infusing the character with his unique flair.

Chae Won Bin, who plays Choi Ha Na, the granddaughter of Mal Soon and daughter of Ji Sook (Seo Young Hee), perfectly embodied her character, adding excitement to the story. With bold choices, she realistically portrayed Ha Na’s conflict with Ji Sook, and her performance transformation has drawn significant attention.

The on-screen chemistry between In Gyo Jin, as Ji Sook’s husband Choi Min Seok, and Seo Young Hee, as Mal Soon’s daughter Ban Ji Sook, was also remarkable. In Gyo Jin skillfully captured his character’s sly nature, while Seo Young Hee transformed into a flawless career woman, drawing everyone’s attention.

Cha Hwa Yun, as the legendary singer Kim Ae Shim, and Jung Bo Suk, as Mal Soon’s loyal friend Park Gap Yong, delivered impressive performances that showcased their strong acting skills. They helped anchor the story, bringing energy and depth to the plot.

Other actors, including Kim Byung Ok as a taxi driver, Shin Shin Ae as Shin Soo Ae, Park Young Su as Young Joon, Lee Hwa Kyum as Li Na, Jung Ji Yoon as Kang Young Eun, and Kim So Won as Chan Mi, also brought their characters to life, adding depth and variety to the cast.

“Miss Granny” is set to premiere in December as the follow-up to “Face Me.”
