Kim Hae Sook Begins A New Chapter As She Transforms Into A Young Jung Ji So In New Drama "Miss Granny"
KBS2’s upcoming drama “Miss Granny” has offered a sneak peek of Kim Hae Sook and Jung Ji So’s character!
A remake of the film of the same name, which has spawned multiple remakes in other countries, “Miss Granny” is a music romance drama about a grandmother in her 70s named Oh Mal Soon who suddenly transforms into a 20-year-old Oh Doo Ri and gets to enjoy the prime of her youth once again.
Kim Hae Sook plays Oh Mal Soon, a character who defies her age with her surprising agility and sharp voice. Tough and meticulous, she never sheds a tear and commands an extraordinary presence. After suddenly returning to her younger self, Mal Soon undergoes changes both inside and out, leading to surprising twists.
Jung Ji So plays Oh Doo Ri, a character full of unpredictable charm who shakes up the Jongno area with her dramatic arrival. Shifting between the youthful energy of her 20s and the wily, relaxed spirit of a 70-year-old, Oh Doo Ri is a hard character to pin down. With the resilience of a grandmother starting a new chapter in life, she pursues her dream of becoming a singer and quickly rises to become a star trainee at Eunice Entertainment, an idol agency.
In newly released stills from the drama, Oh Doo Ri, with her curly hair and bold, patterned outfit, stands out with a fashion sense that seems beyond her 20 years. Meanwhile, Oh Mal Soon bears a striking resemblance to Doo Ri, adding to the intrigue surrounding their upcoming meeting.
In another shot, the two share a tense moment as they gaze at each other. A key scene shows Mal Soon handing Doo Ri a mysterious document, suggesting she has something serious to say and hinting at the complex relationship between the two characters.
The production team commented, “The pairing of veteran actress Kim Hae Sook, known for her trusted performances, with Jung Ji So, who has strong acting skills, is a perfect match. Their chemistry is outstanding, and the synergy between them is remarkable.” They added, “The unique characters they play will bring unexpected fun and surprises to viewers. We hope audiences are excited to see how they bring Mal Soon to life across different generations.”
“Miss Granny” is set to premiere in December following the conclusion of “Face Me.”
