4 Moments In 'Brewing Love' Episodes 5-6 Where Lee Jong Won & Kim Se Jeong Were Totally In Love

Who would have thought that the ever-so-composed Min Ju (Lee Jong Won) and the ex-military Yong Ju (Kim Se Jeong), who doesn’t show her true emotions to anyone, would be so openly falling in love while simultaneously being blind to their own feelings for each other? But “Brewing Love” said “never say never.”

From Min Ju denying his feelings for Yong Ju and getting jealous to secretly taking her photos in a not-so-stalker-ish way, here are four moments where Min Ju and Yong Ju were totally in love in “Brewing Love” episodes 5 and 6.

Warning: spoilers for episodes 5-6 ahead!

Min Ju denying his extremely obvious feelings

At the end of episode 4, Min Ju seems to realize his attraction for Yong Ju by saying, “Are these my emotions? Yes, they are mine,” only for him to reject his own feelings and dump them on Kang Bum (Ryu Won Woo) at the very beginning of episode 5. However, what makes the entire situation hilarious is that he keeps getting slightly annoyed at Kang Bum for not realizing his own affection toward Yong Ju, saying, “Does he not know what he feels for her?”

But at the same time, Min Ju keeps claiming to himself that he feels nothing for Yong Ju when he clearly does. He notices how Kang Bum takes care of Yong Ju by always observing her needs and giving her water when she needs it, but Min Ju forgets to notice how he himself has been doing the same thing this entire time.

Yong Ju trying to understand Min Ju

There is nothing that screams “I am in love,” whether platonically or romantically, more than trying to be understanding and accommodating toward the object of your desire. Min Ju is used to being the person who always observes others and understands their emotions. This makes Yong Ju noticing his needs and being accommodating that much sweeter.

After Min Ju mentions how his emotions right now are not his and that he is just “absorbing others’ emotions,” the next day, Yong Ju is shown looking up the phenomenon online. While googling something doesn’t always have to have a deeper meaning, when Yong Ju goes to Yuilhan Brewery to help Min Ju pack Naro Beer, she asks everyone to laugh, possibly to help Min Ju feel happier by sensing the happiness in the air. They are the small, unnoticed acts that show how much she cares about him, even if she tries to act indifferent toward him.

Min Ju finding excuses to keep talking to Yong Ju

Since episode 1, Min Ju has been shown as an introvert. He is not shy in the way the general public perceives introverts, but he is, at the end of the day, a true introvert who likes to spend his time alone in quiet. But in episode 5, love has seemingly changed him a bit. Though he still likes his quiet time, throughout these two episodes, he keeps trying to find excuses to talk more to Yong Ju.

His attempts seem quite awkward and, at times, funny to the characters. But to the viewers, him blocking the car door from closing multiple times to ask if she has her wallet and cell phone is beyond endearing. The only question is, how can Yong Ju, the woman who is highly observant and emotionally intelligent, not already guess his intentions?

Ju-Ju being each other’s first

Since Yong Ju and Min Ju are not teenagers, making them each other’s first love would have been rather unrealistic. However, that doesn’t stop the writers from showing how Min Ju and Yong Ju are special to each other.

For Yong Ju, she has always been the caretaker and observer in her family and friend circle, which has led her to hide her true emotions from the people she cares about just to avoid burdening them. That includes not talking about her life at all. However, in episode 6, she gets drunk after Min Ju pushes her away, and in this drunken daze, she ends up pouring her heart out. And it’s the first time she talks about anyone—let alone a guy—in front of her grandmother.

On the other hand, Min Ju sees his home as a sanctuary where he allows no one in. The stairs to his bedroom are hidden behind a painting just to ensure no one enters his space without his permission. However, he takes Yong Ju to his room and shows her his photographs. Not to mention, he has only been taking photographs of things that “don’t change,” but he changes his rule for Yong Ju and makes her the first person he has ever photographed.

From confusing his feelings and finally accepting his affection for Yong Ju to openly flirting with her and making her flustered under his touch, Min Ju has been moving at a speed previously unknown to men. You’d never imagine him calling Yong Ju’s photo “mine” while giving her a smile that can simultaneously give you butterflies in your stomach and send shivers down your spine—but I’m not complaining. In fact, hopefully, Yong Ju will catch up to the handsome beer brewer soon and realize her heart isn’t malfunctioning but simply fluttering when a special someone helps her get the boxes off the tall pile.
