Lee Jun Hyuk Shines As A Tough Firefighter On The Job In Upcoming Film “Firefighters”

The upcoming film “Firefighters” has unveiled new stills of Lee Jun Hyuk!

Directed by Kwak Kyung Taek, “Firefighters” captures the authenticity of real-life events by telling the story of firefighters who responded to the fire disaster in the Hongje neighborhood in March 2001. It will vividly depict the urgent situation faced by the team from the Western Fire Station, along with the sweat and tears of firefighters working under challenging conditions, all driven by a singular goal of extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone.

Lee Jun Hyuk plays Gi Cheol, a firefighter at Western Fire Station. Engaged to Hyo Min, the younger sibling of Hyo Jong (Oh Dae Hwan), Gi Cheol is a disciplined firefighter with a tough exterior but a compassionate heart.

In the newly released stills, Gi Cheol is often seen with a soft smile, but his demeanor changes when on duty. His intense gaze reveals his unwavering focus. This mix of warmth and charisma adds depth to his character, leaving audiences eager to see how Gi Cheol will shine in the film.

Lee Jun Hyuk, who previously portrayed a firefighter in the drama “Naked Fireman,” reprises the role in “Firefighters.” He shared his reason for joining the film, saying, “I felt it was fate to portray this profession twice, so I happily accepted the role.”

Despite his fear of fire, Lee Jun Hyuk filmed a scene in which his back was set on fire—without a stunt double—earning applause from the crew. His commitment to authenticity promises a heartfelt performance that will resonate with audiences.

“Firefighters” is set to hit theaters on December 4.
