Watch: Lee Jung Jae Returns To The Death Match But With A Different Objective In "Squid Game 2" Teaser
“Squid Game 2” has unveiled a new poster and a main trailer!
“Squid Game” centers on a mysterious survival game with a reward of 45.6 billion won (approximately $34.5 million) on the line. Season 2 picks up with Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who gave up on going to the United States to pursue his own goals linked to the deadly game he won in Season 1.
The newly released poster features the participants of “Squid Game” running toward something, with Gi Hun leading the charge, signaling the official start of the game. The game arena, reminiscent of a brightly lit carousel, starkly contrasts with the bloodied bodies of the eliminated players on the ground, vividly illustrating how a childhood game has once again transformed into a brutal death match.
The main trailer that was released along with the poster begins with new characters receiving game invitations, and Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) discovering one of these invitations. Gi Hun boards a mysterious limousine and once again hears the voice of the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun). He declares, “Put me back in the game,” expressing his intention to return to the game he barely survived, raising curiosity about the impact of the previous game’s winner rejoining.
Meanwhile, an OX vote on whether the game should continue causes immense confusion and conflict among the participants. Gi Hun’s statement, “I’m trying to put an end to this game,” contrasts sharply with the Front Man’s assertion, “The game will not end unless the world changes,” heightening anticipation for the intense showdown between these two characters with completely opposing values.
