VLAST has been closely monitoring defamatory comments, acts of disclosing PLAVE members’ personal information, and the spread of baseless rumors about the company. After thorough reviews of reports from fans, we’d like to inform you that we have taken strict legal measures to address these malicious acts.
Below are the details regarding our ongoing legal actions against malicious comments and defamation targeting PLAVE:
1. Progress of Legal Actions
In late July 2024, the company filed a lawsuit against an X (formerly Twitter) user ‘Maki’ for malicious posts and personal information disclosure of PLAVE. By late August 2024, Maki’s identity was confirmed, and the investigating officer summoned the suspect for questioning. Subsequently, Maki deactivated their X account.
Although Maki requested leniency from the company, we insisted on strict enforcement of the law. As of now, the police have transferred the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
The company remains committed to a zero-tolerance policy in handling this case and will pursue all necessary legal procedures, including criminal penalties and civil damage claims. This is not merely a response to a single incident but part of our efforts to eliminate malicious actions against our artists and foster a healthy fan culture.
2. A Message to Fans
Due to the lack of precedent and investigation cases involving virtual idols in South Korea, the process has been slower compared to standard cases. However, we assure fans that we will protect the love and support you have shown for the group and do everything in our power to proactively protect the rights and welfare of PLAVE members.
We kindly ask for your continued cooperation in creating an environment where PLAVE can promote healthily and happily.
Should you witness malicious activities, including slander or the spread of false information, please report them to us using the designated forms.
Thank you once again for your unwavering love and support.
