NewJeans To Hold Emergency Press Conference Today Regarding Contract Termination

NewJeans has announced an emergency press conference.

On November 28, an official representative for the group announced that all five members of NewJeans will hold a press conference today at 8:30 p.m. KST to address the termination of their exclusive contracts.

Earlier on November 13, NewJeans sent a certification of contents to their agency ADOR, demanding that ADOR rectify all significant breaches of the exclusive contracts within 14 days and warning, “If our demands for rectification are not accepted, we will terminate our exclusive contracts.”

NewJeans’ demands included necessary actions regarding the statement in the HYBE’s music industry report that said, “We can just start anew by discarding New [NewJeans],” an official apology from a manager of another HYBE label who said to “ignore Hanni,” an assessment and resolution of the damages NewJeans suffered due to “album pushing,” and the resolution of the dispute with director Shin Woo Seok, who directed NewJeans’ music videos including “Ditto” and “ETA.”
