Lee Se Young And Na In Woo's First Love Memories Are Encapsulated In A Snow Globe In "Motel California" Poster

MBC’s upcoming drama “Motel California” has dropped a new poster!

“Motel California” is a romance drama written by Lee Seo Yoon and directed by Jang Joon Ho and Kim Hyung Min. It is based on Shim Yun Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home” (literal title). The story follows a woman who grows up in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns 12 years later to reconnect with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Soo (Na In Woo) and face new challenges.

Lee Se Young takes on the role of Ji Kang Hee, who was raised in a motel run by her father which is essentially her home. Because of her mixed heritage background, she faces many challenges and emotional wounds growing up. She falls in love with her childhood friend Cheon Yeon Soo but leaves everyone behind and moves to Seoul on her 20th birthday. 12 years later, as she reaches the peak of her career as an interior designer, she is forced to return to her hometown and reconnects with her first love.

First and foremost, the newly released poster immediately captures attention with a signboard of Motel California, exuding antique vibes. This place is the home where Ji Kang Hee grew up and ran away from on New Year’s Day at the age of twenty to live by herself in Seoul.

Meanwhile, the sight of Ji Kang Hee and Cheon Yeon Soo encapsulated in a snow globe like a fragment of a poignant and beautiful memory draws attention. The two gaze at each other with affectionate eyes, heightening viewers’ excitement. Along with this, the text that reads, “I wish I was your first,” raises curiosity about the love story that the two characters hold dear and the reason why they parted ways.

The production team remarked, “The perfect chemistry between trusted actors Lee Se Young, who is an expert in romance, and Na In Woo, who is a chemistry maker, is set to fill the beginning of the year with excitement. We ask for your great interest and love for the exciting first love remedy romance of these two characters.”
