Lee Sung Min Exudes A King's Charisma In Upcoming Sageuk Drama "The Queen Who Crowns"
tvN’s upcoming historical drama “The Queen Who Crowns” has shared a glimpse of Lee Sung Min’s character!
“The Queen Who Crowns” tells the story of Queen Wongyeong (Cha Joo Young), a kingmaker who dreamed of a new world in the early days of the Joseon dynasty and made her husband, Lee Bang Won (Lee Hyun Wook), a king with whom she shared the power of the throne. Although she was described in historical records only as “King Taejong’s wife” or “Mrs. Min” without her full name, the drama will reimagine history from the perspective of Queen Wongyeong, who lived an independent life without losing herself in spite of devastating betrayals and harsh reality.
Lee Sung Min will make a special appearance as Taejo Lee Seong Gye, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. Lee Seong Gye is the father of Lee Bang Won and the father-in-law of Queen Wongyeong, standing in opposition to his son over the royal authority. He is also a character who recognizes the potential of his daughter-in-law.
In the newly released stills below, veteran actor Lee Sung Min’s unparalleled charisma and depth of acting are fully evident. He exudes a powerful aura with his mere presence and demonstrates an overwhelming force with his gaze alone.
“The Queen Who Crowns” will premiere on January 6 at 8:50 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
