"Resident Playbook" To Reportedly Premiere In Summer 2025 + tvN Briefly Responds
tvN has addressed reports about the potential broadcast schedule of “Hospital Playlist” spin-off drama “Resident Playbook.”
On December 13, OSEN reported that the highly anticipated tvN series is being prepared for a summer 2025 premiere. The report indicated that issues related to OTT contracts and penalty fees have made it difficult to postpone the show’s release any further.
However, in response to the report, a tvN representative clarified, “The broadcast schedule for ‘Resident Playbook’ has not yet been finalized. Once it is confirmed, we will provide an official announcement.”
Initially, “Resident Playbook” was slated for release in May 2024 as the follow-up to “Queen of Tears.” In March, tvN announced the drama would be postponed to the latter half of the year. However, the prolonged medical residents’ strike, which began in February, led to widespread public resistance toward medical dramas, causing the series to be repeatedly delayed.
“Resident Playbook” depicts the realistic and relatable hospital lives and turbulent friendships of doctors and residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center. The drama has previously confirmed Go Youn Jung, Kang You Seok, Shin Si Ah, Han Ye Ji, and Jung Joon Won as cast members.
