YG Responds To Reports Claiming Song Mino's Inadequate Fulfillment Of Mandatory Service
Song Mino, who is currently fulfilling his alternative military service, is facing allegations of neglecting his duties.
On December 17, Dispatch reported allegations regarding Song Mino’s inadequate fulfillment of his duties while fulfilling his alternative service at the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility. The report highlighted issues such as the manual recording of attendance, which could be easily falsified, and instances where he allegedly did not go to work, citing reasons such as medical leave or annual leave.
In response to the report, YG Entertainment denied the claims, saying, “It is difficult for us to confirm specific details regarding Song Mino’s service. However, the medical leave was an extension of the treatment he had been receiving prior to his service.” They clarified, “All other leaves, including annual leaves, were used in accordance with regulations.”
The Mapo Resident Welfare Facility, Song Mino’s workplace, also stated, “He has served in accordance with regulations,” and announced that they will release an official statement to clarify their position.
Song Mino, who was exempted from basic military training following a Military Manpower Administration review, began his alternative service at the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation on March 24, 2023. A year later, in March 2024, he transferred to the Resident Welfare Facility as his new workplace. Song Mino is scheduled to be discharged from service on December 24.
