Rosé Becomes 1st Female K-Pop Soloist To Chart 2 Songs On Billboard Hot 100 Simultaneously As "toxic till the end" Debuts
BLACKPINK’s Rosé set multiple new records on the Billboard charts this week!
For the week ending on December 21, Rosé’s new song “toxic till the end”—from her first solo studio album “rosie”—debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 90, making it her third solo entry on the chart.
“toxic till the end” joins Rosé and Bruno Mars’ collab “APT.” on the Hot 100, where the hit song is currently still going strong at No. 20 in its eighth consecutive week on the chart.
With this new entry, Rosé has become the first female K-pop soloist ever to chart multiple songs on the Hot 100 simultaneously.
Rosé also set a new record for the highest ranking ever achieved by a female K-pop soloist on Billboard’s Artist 100, where she reached a new peak of No. 4 this week.
Additionally, Rosé made a record-breaking showing on both of Billboard’s global charts this week. “APT.”, which is spending its eighth consecutive week at the top of both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart, has now broken the record for the K-pop song with the most weeks at No. 1. (The previous record belonged to BTS’s Jungkook’s hit single “Seven” featuring Latto, which topped the chart for seven weeks last year.)
Including “APT.”, Rosé charted an impressive total of eight songs from her new album “rosie” on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart this week. “toxic till the end” debuted at No. 6 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, followed by “number one girl” at No. 21, “drinks or coffee” at No. 89, “3am” at No. 98, “gameboy” at No. 106, “two years” at No. 108, and “stay a little longer” at No. 125.
On the Global 200, “toxic till the end” debuted at No. 15, “number one girl” at No. 38, “drinks or coffee” at No. 151, “3am” at No. 165, “gameboy” at No. 177, “two years” at No. 183, and “stay a little longer” at No. 198.
Meanwhile, Rosé became the first female K-pop soloist ever to enter the top 20 of Billboard’s Radio Songs chart, which measures weekly plays on U.S. radio stations across all musical genres. “APT.” rose to a new peak of No. 20 in its fourth week on the chart, in addition to holding steady at No. 11 on the Pop Airplay chart (which specifically measures plays on mainstream Top 40 radio stations across the United States).
“APT.” also held onto its spot at No. 3 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart—meaning it was the third best-selling song of the week in the United States—and No. 20 on the Streaming Songs chart in its eighth week on both charts.
Finally, Rosé became the first female K-pop soloist ever to enter the top 3 of the Billboard 200 (the Top 200 Albums chart), where “rosie” landed at No. 3 in its first week. “rosie” also debuted at No. 3 on both the Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart, meaning it was the third best-selling album of the week in the United States.
Congratulations to Rosé!
