Watch: Na In Woo Transforms Into Adorable Teddy Bear-Like High Schooler In Upcoming Drama “Motel California”

MBC’s upcoming drama “Motel California” has offered a sneak peek of Na In Woo’s transformation!

“Motel California” is a romance drama that follows the story of Ji Kang Hee (Lee Se Young) who grows up in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns 12 years later to reconnect with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Soo (Na In Woo) and face new challenges.

Na In Woo stars as Cheon Yeon Soo, a veterinarian whose life is turned upside down when he reunites with his first love Ji Kang Hee after 12 years.

The newly released stills reveal Cheon Yeon Soo’s chubby appearance from his 120kg phase. Due to Cheon Yeon Soo’s chubby looks and endearing demeanor, he earned the nickname “little bear” from his first love Ji Kang Hee when they were younger.

One photo features Cheon Yeon Soo wearing an adorable Santa costume, showcasing his plump cheeks, rounded figure, and thick-rimmed glasses that further enhance his teddy bear-like image. Another still captures high schooler Cheon Yeon Soo sitting across from Ji Kang Hee as they enjoy ice cream together, sparking curiosity about how their first love story unfolds.

A behind-the-scenes video revealing Na In Woo’s transformation process has also been released. The video reveals Na In Woo undergoing a two-hour special makeup session, with makeup artist Lee Hee Eun, who supervised the transformation, explaining that the goal was to make Na In Woo look as naturally chubby as possible.

Na In Woo, despite wearing a heavy body suit for hours during filming, appeared cheerful without showing any discomfort, adding a warm vibe to the set. Na In Woo shared his experience, saying, “Special effects makeup can sometimes make it hard to express facial emotions, so I worked on making my expressions come through clearly. Seeing myself like this feels fascinating. There are many cute and funny moments in the scenes with the makeup, so I hope you enjoy and look forward to it.”
