Cha Joo Young, Lee Yi Dam, And Lee Si Ah Are All Entangled With Lee Hyun Wook In “The Queen Who Crowns”
Upcoming drama “The Queen Who Crowns” has shared new posters featuring Cha Joo Young, Lee Hyun Wook, Lee Yi Dam, and Lee Si Ah!
“The Queen Who Crowns” tells the story of Queen Wongyeong (Cha Joo Young), a kingmaker who dreamed of a new world in the early days of the Joseon dynasty and made her husband, Lee Bang Won (Lee Hyun Wook), a king with whom she shared the power of the throne. Although she was described in historical records only as “King Taejong’s wife” or “Mrs. Min” without her full name, the drama will reimagine history from the perspective of Queen Wongyeong, who lived an independent life without losing herself in spite of devastating betrayals and harsh reality.
The first set of posters captures Queen Wongyeong and her husband King Lee Bang Won with cold expressions. After Bang Won becomes king, he pushes his wife aside, establishing a hierarchical relationship. While they appear noble and elegant, their intense gazes, directed in different directions, along with the caption on Queen Wongyeong’s solo poster, “I thought we shared the same dream,” hint at the couple’s complicated relationship.
The next set of posters depicts the king’s other women, Chae Ryeong (Lee Yi Dam), Wongyeong’s former maid who becomes the king’s concubine after catching his attention, and Yeong Sil (Lee Si Ah), a royal concubine who bore the king’s child.
In one photo, Chae Ryeong is holding a simple hairpin, which contrasts with Wongyeong’s elaborate hairpiece and jewelry. She has a slightly nervous and innocent expression on her face, but the poster’s caption, “What will Your Majesty give me?” reveals her hidden ambition.
On the other hand, Yeong Sil is holding a fragrant sachet close to her chest, wearing a seductive expression that reveals her feelings for Bang Won.
The production team commented, “The character posters capture the core narratives of Wongyeong, Bang Won, Chae Ryeong, and Yeong Sil, as well as the complex relationships between them. Cha Joo Young, Lee Hyun Wook, Lee Yi Dam, and Lee Si Ah perfectly brought these characters to life with their amazing performances. We will kick off the new year of 2025 with this well-made historical drama. Please look forward to it.”
